Two Stories of Spinalonga (17 min)

Maurice Born, a French researcher, arrived in the 1960s to the tiny Greek island of Spinalonga, a former leper colony. Since then, he has witnessed the "official" story of the island change and become more catered to the tourism industry. Maurice is on a mission to tell the "unofficial" story told to him directly from the survivors of the island.

Hairless and beautiful (19 min)

In November of 2008, president-elect Obama gives his first press conference and announces that his family is on the search for a dog. Because of his daughter Malia’s allergies, the dog has to be hypoallergenic. Advocates of the Peruvian Hairless Dog in Lima see this as an opportunity to promote the breed and show up at the U.S. Embassy in Lima with a gift. A young big-eared puppy called Machu Picchu. Overnight, this pre-Inca breed goes from being obscure to a household name. This sudden change in fortune creates a demand and a black market for the Peruvian Hairless Dog.
